Welcome to LA Guide

Our list of places to see and eat in the city of Los Angeles!

Downtown_LosAngeles,night,freeway_Grimm,Tom+Michele

A newcomer to LA would widely enjoy the thousands of food options the city has to offer. From downtown to the Westside, from restaurants to food trucks, LA stands by the diverse culinary culture they are known for. Let’s start with the local eateries. Explore fine dining restaurants in the heart of downtown such as Bottega Louie Italian Restaurant, Gourmet Market & Patisserie. Check out some fine American dining and brew at Lazy Ox Canteen. Check out a sporting or concert event at famous Staples Center and find several great restaurants next door at LA Live such as Fleming’s Steakhouse and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.

Find your way towards Hollywood on Melrose Ave. and encounter the eclectic surroundings of mom and pop shops and hip stores. Don’t forget to try the critically acclaimed restaurant and food experience ink., owned by Chef Michael Voltaggio (winner of Top Chef Season 6). Angelinos alike love their gourmet burgers. Find the most popular eats at Umami Burger in Downtown LA and Hollywood, Father’s Office in Culver City, and the Counter in Downtown LA.  If one is feeling more ethnic, there is wide range of cuisines from all over the world from Japantown, Koreatown, Thai Town, Little Armenia, and of course Mexican cuisine which Socal is known for! Don’t forget: The Original LA’S Farmer’s Market at 3rd Street Promenade is a must see!

And of course, let’s move onto the beloved food trucks. There are tons of them rolling the streets everyday and most of them can be found together at food truck lots. Popular ones include Santa Monica (2612 Main St), Century Food Truck Lot near LAX airport, or Fig and 7th in downtown LA. One can also find them in exciting community monthly events such as DTLA Artwalk and Melrose Night where a variety of trucks and people gather and enjoy the festivities in food and fun. When it comes to food truck life, we as Buttermilk Truck love what we do and enjoy the everyday adventures around SoCal. Seeing the smiles on satisfied breakfast-lovers make the mobile biz worthwhile. Our food items are served with quality ingredients such as Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, Dutch Process Cocoa Powder for our famous Red Velvet Pancakes. Newbies to the city must get a taste, we welcome with open arms! For a full list of accredited quality food trucks, visit SoCalMFVA

Los Angeles is the perfect melting pot for one to enjoy on days on end. There’s endless amount of things to see, places to be, and food to taste. LA has it all and one who’s new to the city will never want to leave!
